SPIDER VEIN TREATMENTLast Updated: 11/12/2010
November 11, 2010- Dr. Bush responds to Dr. Mueller I have a 1064 and I never use it. The VeinGogh and the 940 laser by Dornier are much more effective in treating spider veins than the 1064 wavelength laser. The 1064 has a low HgB affinity and in order to effectively deliver sufficient energy there must be a long pulse duration which either hurts or a cooling mechanism must be added which decreases the efficiency of the laser. Course 3 deals with the application of light based therapy, ohmic thermolysis, and targeted phlebectomies. This course will be available in a few weeks and I think you will find it beneficial as an overall view of spider vein treatment. Ron
