Ok to remove accessory gsv or ssv by phlebectomy? Dr. Bush responds to Dr. Mueller

Last Updated: 5/10/2012

Responses

If a gsv or ssv accessory is close to the skin, ok to remove by phlebectomy?  Yes

Would a stump left on place off the gsv or ssv itself cause regrowth of the accessory?  No

Would you Perform phlebectomy of a superficially located gsv or ssv in lieu of foam or stripping?   I prefer invagination stripping since it only requires 2 small incision.
