evlt and pregnancy - Dr. Schwartz has questions & Dr. Bush responds

Last Updated: 3/13/2012

Responses

I do not do any type of procedure in someone who is pregnant. If a miscarriage occurs, even though unlikely to be your fault, you place your self at a risk for litigation.

She is more likely to form recurrent veins after pregnancy and these may be more difficult to treat.

have a young lady whom I scheduled for EVLT for painful varicose veins.
She just fond out she was pregnant (likely just a few weeks).

Any contraindication to EVLT?

too hypercoaguable? DVT risk?
