Facial Veins Using the Dornier 940 Laser ~ Dr. Norman Bein, shares his expertise

Last Updated: 8/6/2012

Responses

We have injected these with limited success, larger veins have been removed with microphlebectomy.
More recently we have been using the Cutera Nd:yag 1064 and a 5mm spot size with success. Treatment is quick with some time spent pre and post cooling.
It can be a bit uncomfortable but not lasting. We tend to avoid use of topical anesthetics especially near the eyes. Treatments are about 4-6 weeks apart and usually about 3-4 treatments.
There is less risk of complications such as inadvertent arterial injection and skin loss.
